How to delete case fields in Case Management Studio?

Once a case type data field has been created in the Studio, what is the right way to go about deleting these fields? It seems like the option to delete these fields is not available in Studio, and ideally I would like both developers and end users to be able to delete case type data fields that have been created.

Is the only way to do this to delete fields in the record type itself, and if so, would doing this break the functionality of Case Management Studio in some way?
