Yes, is the same error, i wrote it two times
Have a look at the tomcat log file
It doesnt appear in that log... maybe in Application Server logs?
Yes you can check that also but in parallel you can do below activities
1. Raise a support case to Appian ,
2 .if its on premise do a restart and see if this error occurs again

Seems to be a connectivity or driver issue , the best thing you can do is raise a support ticket
