Hello!
We are in need of a Slovenian locale/translation for appian and I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions as to how would we be able to get that specific locale? Is there any way to do a custom translation and import it into appian?
Thanks, Jan

Hi centrihjan ,Additional languages can be configured through Appian Support. For cloud instance, open a support case.
We have a self-hosted installation. That's why i'm wondering if there are any possibilities for us to make a custom locale file.
Same goes with On-premise too, Please raise a support case.Appian Supported Locales - https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/24.4/Appian_Administration_Console.html#internationalizationAfter configuring the script, Follow these steps for setting up in Self Hosted server - docs.appian.com/.../Bootstrap_Locale_and_Timezone.html
I may have worded myself a bit wrong.
The main issue we have is not with the language being shown (would be nice to have a slovenian language but it's not that important), the main issue is with number and date formatting, since we want dates to be formatted as DD.MM.YYYY and numbers formatted as 100.000,00 (not 100,000.00 as it's currently in en_GB locale).
If we try to use the DE (german) locale as primary the formatting seems to be ok but then the whole language gets changed to german.
Do you have any ideas as to how could we tackle this issue?
I think it's best to open a support case to discuss this directly with Appian. I am sure that you can add additional languages, including localization for dates and numbers.
I have few things that can clear you out:1. If you are using date field, then definitely you need a custom plugin,2. If you are using text field, write a custom expression rule to display date and numbers in a certain format or just need a custom function plugin. These both can be used and needed to add a condition with respective to the current locale. My suggestion is to raise a support case, they will help you in a better way. Please share your thoughts on this
The formatting in date fields depends on the user selected locale. There is zero need to use any plugin.
Appian supports custom translations via its Translation Management feature. You can create a custom locale by adding Slovenian translations in the platform's Localization interface. Once translated, you can export the language bundle and import it into your environment. Refer to Appian's documentation for detailed steps on translation management.
