Adding KPI Pattern to my Site

Appian Community Team,

I have a Site which 5 Interfaces in it. Please see below screenshot for reference. If I want to add KPI, where should I add it? Is it to all individual interfaces or should that be added onto the Site Page?

If its on the Site page, can you guide me here please. I am new to Appian and I am open for suggestions here.

Regards,

Mahesh

  • Hi,

When deciding where to add KPIs in your Appian Site, it’s essential to consider how users will interact with the KPIs [UI/UX] and their relevance to either individual interfaces or the entire Site. Here are some points to help you decide:

    1. High-Level Overview:
If the KPIs provide a summary or high-level overview of the entire Site, such as key metrics or trends, add them to the dashboard/landing page.

    2. Specific Functionality:
If the KPIs are tied to specific data or functionalities within an interface, place them on the individual pages where they are most relevant.

suggested KPIS for provided screenshot :

    a. Occupancy Chart: A pie chart showing the ratio of occupied vs. vacant data.
    b. Listing Price Growth: Metrics to display total listing price growth (weekly/monthly).
    c. Review Stages: A summary of current review stages to track progress.

    eg :

Ultimately, the placement of KPIs depends on the user experience and interface requirements. Let me know if you need further assistance or detailed guidance!

  • Thank you  , KPI's that we are interested in showing are high level overview for the entire site. We just want to show 4 Categories and how many loans does each Category have at that moment. Loans move from one Category to another Category in the Site based on User Actions. How do I add KPI on the site? My site has 4 interfaces added. I have provided screenshot in the first posting above. Should I be adding these KPI's to all Interfaces?

You can add these to your Landing interface or the Reports interface. But as per your interfaces that you have configured in the site I am unsure what exactly the initial, secondary queue and final review are about assuming them to be different categories, I would recommend the KPIs be placed in Reports. If the KPIs seem meaningful to be placed in any one of the other tabs then it should be fine.

  • I see your point. In my opinion, instead of using four separate pages for the four loan categories, you could consolidate them into a single page [ which can be our landing page called Loans/ Dashboard/ Loan Dashboard] . On this page, you can display four KPIs representing the total loan amounts or total loans for each category and make them drillable (clickable). This way, users can click on a specific KPI to view detailed information about the selected category on the same page.

Since the current setup already has four individual pages for the same data, this approach would provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience.
