Appian Selenium API and Future AI Tools

Hello!

When it comes to AI tools in the context of automation testing (e.g. AI generation of automated tests, AI automatically fixing broken locators after a change, etc.), what support, and compatibility from/within Appian is expected currently and in future?

  • Hi  ,

Currently, Appian uses it's primary AI tool i.e., AI Copilot for testing in different ways:

    1. Automated Test Case Generation The AI Copilot can automatically generate test cases for expression rules. It analyzes the logic within an expression rule to identify edge cases and common scenarios, creating a comprehensive set of tests in bulk.

    2. Sample Data Creation To facilitate thorough testing, the AI Copilot can generate realistic sample data.

    3. AI Skills Object Developers can use Appian AI Skills to build and train custom AI models for specific tasks. While not a direct testing tool, these skills can be incorporated into processes that are under test, allowing for the automation of more complex, intelligent workflows.

In future, it might also use Selenium for automated testing but as of right now it is not using that.
