The JSONPath() function receives a JSON string and returns text. Would you mind clarifying where the extra conversion fits in the use case? At what point do you face the need for converting the JSON to XML? is it because your final requirement is to return XML instead of what JSONPath returns?

I amd using version 7.4. I dont want to convert from JSON to XML. Wanted to build a grid dynamically using SAIL and JSON. I noticed that the example provided was with Rest and XML.

I am afraid jsonpath is new to 7.7, you won't be able to use it in 7.4

You can use anything that uses JSON notation with this function. You don't need to convert it to the XML first.
