Has anyone successfully hooked up a webservice between Appian and a Windows 2012R2 IIS server with a Visual Studio.net webservice back-end on premise, using SSL and possibly a username/password passed during the handshake? If so, we would love to talk with you, as we have been hitting some major walls with this implementation....

What is the error you are receiving? If you connecting to the service via https, did you make the SSL certificate available to Appian?

Are you talking about a client certificate? I don't think we made a cert available to Appian. Where would you do this? I will ask our developer to provide some more details. Thanks!

Thanks Alok & Mike... we're now looking into using a PEM file as a solution. If that doesn't work, we will probably be looking at going the VPN route.
