When working in the MySQL DB in Appian's cloud instance, I am trying to update a view with new columns. Are view updates to be done manually via the MySQL viewer, or through Appian's Data Management feature?

View updates need to be done manually. Once you've updated the view in the database, you can update your CDT that is mapped to that view, and then run impact analysis to update other affected objects.
