hi all,
is it possible that once someone comments on a tempo, some particular people can receive an email even if they haven't comment on this tempo before?
for example, a tempo is created and nobody has commented before. once A comments, B will receive an notification email.

I believe if a user has subscribed to a Feed and default email alerts are on, he/she will get the updated on email.

Go to Settings under username in tempo interface and you will see News on left hand side pane. But this solution will only work if B explicitly subscribes to the feed. Hope this helps.

Additionally, your email alert settings can be fully configured through the apps portal: <your url here>/suite/apps -> Alerts -> Edit my alert settings. If you want to disable the apps portal for your site, you can expose these settings as actions in tempo by using the Portal Utilities plugin which is available on Forum.

thank you all.
this may not work. i found i have subscribed to all feeds.
still if i don't participate in certain tempo, which means i never comment on this tempo, i won't receive any notification emails when others comment.

For a tempo post you have not participated in, you can star it to receive notifications on other comments.

There are a range of smart services which allow interaction with the news feed. You can then subscribe to the feed as described by Ravat and Praveen.
