  • @janakik AFAIK I doubt if this is doable. Because in 7.9, Appian generates news feeds upon import or export. Documentation says that "By default, the user performing the export or import is the only viewer of the post, but they can add other users to it to share the logs or export package." (Reference: https://forum.appian.com/suite/help/7.9/Applications.html#Import_and_Export_Applications >> 2. Import and Export Applications). So in the news feed event, we can only add others manually but can't configure the default users or groups as participants of the event in the back end. If we can slightly co-relate the behavior of News Event with the Import Alert, we can conclude that this this isn't something which is configurable in Appian and can further say that Appian always takes the context of the user who is taking the action (similar to a process or expression run under the context of a user).

Further, in many places in the documentation, Appian is using the keyword 'Always' and here are some of the references:

    >> Always check the import log located in the My Import Logs folder within your Personal and Teams knowledge center when you import an application to make sure it imported correctly. (https://forum.appian.com/suite/help/7.8/Deploy_Application.html > Components of Application Deployment)

    >> A link to this log is included in the alert sent after importing and is always saved in the My Import Logs folder in your Personal and Teams knowledge center.(https://forum.appian.com/suite/help/7.8/How_to_Understand_the_Import_Log.html > Overview)

Let' see if some one from Appian can let us know if this is doable. If so, I am interested as well in knowing about configuring the participants of the News Event which is posted from 7.9 upon completion of Import and Export.
