We have an issue where we have hundreds of users showing as active in Appian, but they no longer exist in Active Directory (the accounts have been deleted)

I would like to know if there is any risk in deactivating all users in Appian and then using the LDAP sync process to reactivate the correct ones from AD?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. How would I go about deactivating all users?

It depends how long it'll take for the LDAP sync to run and do this. If there's any activity in the system while these users are deactivated you'll get nodes erroring out with privilege errors.
