How to Suppress News Feed Emails?

I have scenario where I need to generate news feed but not send mails to the user/ groups.is there a way to achieve it with using a plugin / changing the custom properties. I need a way to configure it from process /feed level . the users wants to see the feed but does not want email notfication when an event is added/commented.

    What type of notification are the users receiving? I don't believe any notifications are generated for other users when you add a new post, unless they are added (manually) as participants. The first link ("Feed notifications" section) shows a list of scenarios where a notification is generated for a news feed item.

    For existing posts, there is always the option to unsubscribe by clicking the orange [x] on the right of a news post.
