I was just wondering why is it easy for people from Java and .Net background to obtain a license (pay per year/month) from their preferred IDE and start using the framework they like while the same is not possible in Appian BPM?
Can I obtain one cloud/on premise developer license version of Appian to train myself on and try different designs (sort
of a personal account) like in Microsoft Visual Studio and other IDEs?
I want to do this in an independent fashion - without attachment to a specific customer/account. As a developer wanting to learn the technology to expand my career?
Thanks.

I found this in
forum.appian.com/.../Prerequisites.html
- "A product license is required to start Appian after it has been installed. Long term product licenses can only be requested after Appian is installed. If you wish to obtain a temporary product license in advance, send an email message to support@appian.com".
