Is there any reason the "Save changes" link is not shown on the left w

Is there any reason the "Save changes" link is not shown on the left when you click on a related action on a record? The dashboards are shown instead. If you go back in your tasks afterwards, you see the Save Changes link. Is this normal behaviour?

This does seem to be the normal behavior. We'd actually prefer to be able to hide "Save Changes" altogether on our forms, as it causes confusion with our users when we also have a "Save and Close" button at the bottom of the form.
