Users Automatically Re-Logging Into Appian Every 2 Hours

Hi Forum

I am monitoring the login_audit.csv file and I notice that a wide range of users are automatically re-logging into Appian every 2 hours. This will go on throughout the night, well passed working hours and the login_audit will read certain users logging in at 20:11,22:11,00:11,02:11 for example. I am unsure whether they are logging out of the system or shutting down their pcs after the work day.

I noticed in the custom properties file that the timeout timer is set to two hours, maybe this is re-logging in the user rather than logging them out of the system? Please advise

The only thing that can log the user back in is if there's single sign on enabled.

Check if you have any -override.xml files under ear\\suite.ear\\web.war\\WEB-INF\\conf\\security or if SSO is enabled in the Admin Console forum.appian.com/.../Appian_Administration_Console.html

Hi Eduardo

I do not have an override file in that directory.
With regards to SSO, in my admin console I only have 3 categories here, namely Branding, Current User Activity and Third-Party Credentials. Where would I find the SSO configuration?

@lincoln - To view all the options in admin console you have to login with user credentials provided system administrator role. Currently you are trying to access admin console as basic user role access.

What I've found out is that the users who are experiencing this issue do not log out of the Appian system at the end of the day, we tested with one user logging out and one user staying logged in.

Do I notify the users to make it a routine to log out at the end of the day? Is this the only fix?

When they logout they should the login page. Do you see the "Remember Me" checkbox enabled?

If you do see it enabled, try disabling it and logging in again. Repeat the test and see if Remember Me is what is causing this behavior in the login audit.
