How to Disable News Tab in Tempo

Hi Karthik, By default you would not be able to disable tempo. one of the alternative is to make use of sites if you want to have focused user interface.

Can we disable all or some users from posting on news?

While creating a post (forum.appian.com/.../News.html we can control the visibility of the post and using the "User profile visibility" (forum.appian.com/.../User_Profile_Visibility.html) we can control addition of participants on a particular post.

@karthikeyans To be specific to your question, afaik there isn't an option to disable posting on News.

The news tab is an essential component of the awareness, knowledge and action cycle in Appian. If the users are aware of the benefits of this feature they may change their minds.

Hello Karthikeyans, We cannot disable the News tab, but we can set the landing page of the env for all users to be in either Tasks tab or tempo tab as per our requirement.

Adding some more information to Other Practitioner's comments, if the goal is to concentrate on the work(Tasks) , you can opt for sites, in which you can integrate tasks(by creating task reports),records, and reports as well.

Sites is an alternative interface and allows you to pick which tabs to display (no news). You can configure the user start pages so that some groups go to Sites (non-news users) and others go to Tempo. In Tempo, you cannot limit the use of the News tab for certain groups nor can you hide it. forum.appian.com/.../Sites.html
