Output text file with trailing carriage return

How are you "using Appian to output a text file" ? Is this using a smart service? If so, which smart service.

There is a node called Text Doc from Template, maybe this is a plug in we have had it as long as i remember so i thought it was out of box.

Can you share a screenshot of the Smart Service node setup?

It looks like this was from an old Shared Component that has since been updated and replaced by Dynamic Document Generator. Possibly consider testing on this shared component

The out of the box "Text Doc From Template Smart Service" (forum.appian.com/.../Text_Doc_From_Template_Smart_Service.html) can handle most flat file generation requirements though the number of officially supported file extensions is limited.

Try this:
1) Use a text file with a single substitution field.
2) Build a text array of the lines you want.
3) Set the value of the substitution with an expression like:
joinarray( ri!lines, char(13)&char(13)&char(10))

Thanks i tried that but it results in CR+LF at the end of the line which is not working in the target system which wants just CR. attaching the output with that expression.

as joinarray(ri!lines,chr(13)&CHR(10)) - I tried for this example and got the attached result.

What you did has a CR LF at the end of each line. It looks the same in notepad but if you use notepad ++ and enable view-> show symbol -> end of line you can see its different than the one i attached originally

Hi Joep, I got it now and as I see in previous post which Andrew suggested as well did not work. Would it be possible for you to do a dos2unix & mac2unix on the file in the Linux environment and see if there is any change in the file ?
