Yes you can communicate with database even when you are there on your UI form only.

Yes I haven't tried this but, we can insert rows in database tables once the end user clicks on add button using execute smart services in SAIL.
please go through the link

how to use the write to Smart Service in SAIL.

I'm not sure why you'd do that directly from the SAIL form - any button can be set to submit the form, so you can do this conventionally using the write to datastore node in the process, and looping back to the form.

Hi, Yes you can. You can use a!writeToDataStoreEntity() or a!writeToMultipleDataStoreEntities().

@archanareddyk,
you can add multiple rows in database with the help of a!writeToDataStoreEntity() which will take array of your cdt and you can use this in a!save() of your button As part of 16.2 feature we can invoke some smart services in SAIL also , and this will be helpful if your in 16.2
