Can we update the news feed?

We have a use case where a news feed is posted and includes a Due Date in the header of the post. Sometimes this due date will change later on. I thought there must be a way to update this news feed but i can't seem to find one is there a way to update the news feed (besides posting comments)

Have you considered adding a comment to the original news post or hazard? forum.appian.com/.../Post_Comment_to_Feed_Entry_Smart_Service.html
