Pausing processes to release the resources

I would like to pause the running process and release the resources for other processes. How should I implement it

@dastagirid I believe the plugin at http://bit.ly/1UdxI1X should do assist you but afaik releasing the resources shouldn't be a criteria for pausing the processes and it should be in line with the business requirements. For instance, we used to pause the processes while carrying out in-flight modifications and resume them after successful completion.
