SSO to Appian Sites

Hi All,
We are looking to build a connectivity between an external portal and Appian Site. The scenario is user will login to external portal and when he/she clicks on a link, it should redirect them to the Appian Site without asking for credentials again i.e. single sign on.
Few queries on the same:
1) Does this works similar to Embedded Interface concept, where all the users should be part of a SAML group which is configured in the Admin Console and they cannot access native appian directly.
2)If it is a SAML journey then whether it should be IDP initiated or SP initiated?
If anyone has tried this before, could you please provide some information.
Thanks.
Hitesh

Hi Hitesh,
We have a similar scenario for a requirement and we are achieving it using SSO with Embedded SAIL concept using SAML with IDP initiated approach. Mostly all information can be found here.
docs.appian.com/.../SAML_for_Single_Sign-On.html
This is very much doable.
If you can elaborate on the issues you are facing, I can help.
