AppianGUI Fitnesse automation

Hello,
We would like to automate our regression test suites using Fitnesse for Appian. Please let us know if there is a training session for Fitnesse for Appian. We would like to know how to automate Appian GUI screens using Fitnesse. Do we have to write our own fixtures or they come with the Appian package. Also if there is a document which explains how to create a test on Appian GUI that would be great. Please help.

is Fitnesse still supported in 17.1 or is it being deprecated and replaced with the test rules as described in the Automated Testing for Expression Rules article?
