File listener in Appian

Question

Hi, 
 Any ideas/thoughts on "File Listener" in Appian ? I do not want to poll regularly a file location, via a scheduled process model. Instead, a process model should kick off automatically when a file arrives in a specified file location. 
 I have gone through the following posts but want to know the latest on this:

 Alternate option considered & rejected: 
 The system which writes the file, invokes a service to let Appian know that the file has been placed in a specified file location.

You can accomplish by directing the user to a site/interface to upload their file instead of having the user upload the file via the /designer interface. If you construct an interface form with a file upload field, once that form is submitted you can start your process, either by having the form exist as a start page or using the a!startProcess in the save field.
