Push-Pull capability in Appian

Question

Does Appian allows Pull and Push of data? 
 Example : 1. If there's an API, can we retrieve that data and display on the UI 
 
 2. Can an Operational Data Store (ODS) push data into it to Appian?

Hi subramaniyanjp please correct me if i am wrong, you are asking about whether or not Appian can push and pull the data via API Call? 
 
If so, yes Appian allows us to Retrieve / Pull/ GET the data from any external system via API call and once we have the data then we can play around this data such as, display the data on UI or build a Service Backed Record and represent the data. 
 
Also, Appian allows any Third-Party system to push / POST the data into Appian if they are authorized / have proper authentication credentials.
