Incorrect Mapping of smallint to short in MS SQL Server

The above documentation suggests mapping a MS SQL Server type of smallint to a short but I believe it should infact be mapped to a long type in the xsd element definition.

Can someone confirm if the docs are wrong?...

smallint and short are both reserved for intergers of 2 bytes.

Ok, perhaps I should have listed an example. A smallint with a value of 222 in the rdbms is being returned as -61 when the xsd mapping uses short.

But the correct value is returned when mapping to long
