Greetings

We have three cases of instances with problem trying start the smart service write database store.

When this smart service is called, the system generate this error:

...ue contained data which could not be converted into valid XML

We tried restart the node but the same error was showed.

Anyone can help us with this case ?

Are you able to share values you're trying to write, their PV data types, and the data types of the CDT where you're trying to save the values?

Unfortunately we can't share this informations, because this kind of dates are classified and this is a PROD environment.

Have you any idea what can cause this kind of error ?

I say this because previously the smart service worked normally, but just now it is unavailable.

If you are saving a string as XML, does it contain any of the following characters?

" ' < > &

These are not valid XML characters, they would need to be escaped as follows.

" = "
' = '
< = <
> = >
& = &

I've seen something like this in the past where a user had pasted text into an input field that contained unprintable characters, which the system then tried to write to the database. Since those characters don't show up in a web interface, we had to paste the text into NotePad ++ to figure out what the problem was.

Once we figured out what the invalid characters were, we were able to substitute out the unprintable characters and the database write was successful.
