Hello guys,
I want to integrate APPIAN with Webspehere. I want the interfaces to be kept in webspere(for security purpose) and the process, the data model in APPIAN.
What is the best way to pass the values? I know about the smart web services but I was wandering if I can use messages between the two system. I found something about Java Messaging Service but I don't really understand how to use it. Can it be used to send values between the two Applications and to move the process from one task to another as the interfaces are changed in Websphere?
Thanks in advance,
George

Typically Websphere is used as an application server together with Appian, and has been supported for recent releases as such (with the exception of Appian 7.10:

.
If this isn't what you are referring to, can you explain your requirement in more detail?

Hello tom.ryan,
Sorry for the late answer. Yes, what you say is correct. But we use Jboss.
What I need is to communicate with some interfaces that run on websphere. I want to receive message from those interfaces. For example the values completed in the fields of that interfaces i want to be send to the appian process. Also I want to to send messages to them, for example parameters from Appian process, constants and other stuff. Practicaly, I want to know how I can create a communicatation between Appian and other systems ussing messages.
Thanks in advance,
George

We use websphere as a web / application server for a different application within our organisation. The developers who use this host web services on that server that Appian calls to access data and write data and this also calls web services that Appian has created.

Just to add some more information to the previous response, you can connect the two systems by web services. There are a number of Smart Services and functions which may be useful depending on your exact requirements but some good places to start would be:

thanks Tom.
The Web_APIS can be a solution to expose data from Appian to another application. But if I want to get data from another application without calling a webservice I found something about JMS messaging. Did you use that? cand you give me some guidance, directions that I should follow?
thanks in advance,
George

The docs should help:
