We need to integrate with an external web application but cannot think of a good method of bringing the results back into Appian and saving in PVs.

the use case is as follows:

we have existing data on an Appian form. The user clicks on a button in Appian that then opens an external web based application (passing in a unique identifier in the URL). The user then goes through a number of steps in the external applications user input form, which performs calculations and makes a number of decisions. When the user closes the external application (submits that form), we need the results saved back into the Appian process variables. We will be updating only a few Appian variables (around 5 or 6 max).

We currently integrate with this external app from an ASP.Net form, which allows us to invoke the external form and get XML post back once the app closes. We want to do a similar thing in Appian.
