Hi All,
SalesForce is our CRM. We’ve encountered a problem where SalesForce and Appian cannot communicate because SalesForce does not support VPN and Appian does not have a static IP address that can be reliably added to our SalesForce whitelist. How would you approach this?
We have given a thought to creating a web service in .NET that talks to SalesForce and retrieves the information required. This web service would then be consumed by any other platform such as Appian.
Appreciate your inputs on this.
Thanks!

How are you trying to get data from Salesforce?
As per my knowledge, whitelisting an IP is not mandatory and you need to pass combination of password and security token in password to get it working.
Password = API user password + "." + API user security token
