Using a!sfcInsert from a Process Model

Is there any way to initiate the Salesforce connector function a!sfcInsert() from inside of a process model, or can it only be used inside the saveInto parameter of a SAIL component?

Per the docs a!sfcInsert() can only be used within a bind() and bind() can only be used when defining variables using the load() function on SAIL UIs.
