Is it any way to add custom rule to Appian Process Report Designer?

Hi All, 
 
 My client would like to add something in Appian Process Report Designer that needs me to query record from database. 
 
 Something like this:-

I saw a post in community that mention only primitive rules is allowed:

 I'm quite new to Appian, it is any other way i can achieve this?

I suspect this is not possible. If it did work, it would have pretty severe implications on the performance of your report - remember, it's running that query entity against *every single row* returned by the report, whether that row needed it or not.
