Export DSE to Excel is the current most-supported method of dumping data into an excel (despite its drawbacks, which some would find to be dealbreakers). Since there's no way of manipulating the data between query from the DB and generation of the Excel file, it's recommended to create a DB View that does any preformatting you want on your data.
