I am deploying an application from dev environment to test environment. There is a link in the record type which is autogenerated when the record Type was created and grid view was configured to the database. Now when I did Direct Deployment to the test environment, the Link which is stored in a constant does not changes and neither the deployment system gives any error. I changed the link manually in the test environment and it works fine. But I want to know about better ways to handle this. can any one help ?

Mark that constant as environment-specific and then you'll remember to change that when deploying.
