Hi Community, I am new to Appian. I want to know that is it possible that if I create two separate RecordTypes from a single database table? actually the scenario is, there is a single table from database which is being used on two different pages. so on one page when I apply security rules on RecordType it effects the functionality on the other page. so I am trying if its possible that I create two record types base on single table from database and apply security settings on one RecordType and keep the other RecordType as it is. Thanks.

What is the difference between the two pages? Do you target different roles? Then why not incorporate these roles in the security rules?
You can create any number of records on the same table.
two pages means two site pages. I have used security rules in which i am displaying listing data based on users belonging to different groups that works perfectly fine, but it effects the working on first tab of site which uses the same record type.
You should use security to secure individual records, not to filter your record lists for individual users.
Did you try to add a filter to the query in the grid? Then filter specific to each page.
no i haven't tried that, can you explain it how it works?
The Appian documentation has a ton of examples. Would this fit your needs?

no these are the filters. I want to set security rules on record type without effecting its functionality on the other page. That's why I asked the question is it possible that we create two record types based on one database table?
If security rules is that what you want, then just create two records and define the rules according to your needs.
Be aware that security rules do not only affect the record list, but restrict access to the record items in general.
In that case, if security rules are important to you, simply create two records and set the rules accordingly. This may be solve your issue.
yes working in that way now.thanks.
