Hi there,
I'm on the last part of the instructions where we have to create a record action:
1. In the left menu, go to the Actions page.2. Click GENERATE RECORD ACTIONS.3. In the Choose Your Action dialog, deselect Update and Delete. For this exercise, you will focus on the Create record action. Click CUSTOMIZE.4. Configure the following properties:● Display Name: Enter Add Vehicle.● Description: Enter Action to add a new vehicle to the fleet.● Click NEXT: REVIEW OBJECTS.5. Review the objects that Appian generates for this action, including a process model and interface for adding a new vehicle.6. Click GENERATE.
After clicking GENERATE in step 6, I am put back at the Actions page with the following error displayed (Your record actions and supporting objects could not be created. Try generating them again or configuring manually.):
Interestingly, when I look at the object listing for the site, I see that the Process Model was generated, but not the Interface:
Any suggestions on how I can move past this?
Thank you,Stefan.

Hi Stefan ,Without the interface, we cannot proceed with the process, such as adding the record. You mentioned that the interface is not created, which is why the error 'supporting objects could not be created' is showing. I’ve heard that issues with Appian’s version might cause certain objects not to be created correctly. But before that, I hope your record is properly set up. Could you check the process model to verify if it's configured correctly and ensure that all the necessary steps are properly set up? Also, could you try creating it again by following the same steps, to ensure that all related objects are properly configured?
Hi, thanks for the reply!
I can confirm that I have tried the steps multiple times, and it has failed each time, only creating the process model object. I thought I could get around it by duplicating the missing object(s) from the complete application that is added to the workspace, but that didn't work out either. I've since forged ahead, understanding that these particular steps could not be completed and may indeed hinder some future steps, so at some point I may be forced to try creating the whole thing from scratch again.
Regarding your comment about the Appian versions, it dawned on me that I started the step-by-step guide when Appian was on 24.2, and now they're upgraded to 25.1, so it's entirely possible that this could be part of the issue.
Here's the process model that was created:Looks simple enough, but as to whether it's configured properly, I'm not sure.
More and more, I feel like starting from step 1 might be the best bet.
Thanks again,Stefan.
Hi Stefan. Having the same issue. Were you able to find out what was causing this? I was able to make it work just adding it manually without the generator.
Raise a support case with Appian
Hey, unfortunately, no. I've gotten a bit busy at work too, so haven't had the opportunity to restart from step 1 either. Glad you were able to get past it!
Thanks for the suggestion Shivakanth. I may yet do that.
