Appian Community and Appian Academy are being upgraded. From July 24–August 3, the Appian Community will be in read-only mode. During this time, the site will be read-only and user registration will be disabled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but a more secure, stable, and performant Community experience is coming soon!
The new Appian Community launches August 3, followed by Appian Academy on August 7. During the migration, Appian Community Edition, Appian Academy, Documentation, Certifications, Instructor-led Customer Training, Partner Sales Training & Accreditation, and Forum (for Appian Partners and Customers only) will remain available.
Hi everyone,
I've encountered an error when using datetext() function in Portals saying:
Expression evaluation error [evaluation ID = CMISK] at function 'datetext' [line 5]: Expression evaluation error : The function 'datetext' is unavailable.
So, my question is if this is a known issue or am I doing something wrong because function list says that datetext() is available in Portals. I am attaching interface code that I published as portal and used to isolate this issue.
{ a!sectionLayout( label: "Section", contents: { a!textField(value: datetext(now(),"yyyy/MM/dd"), readOnly: true() ) } ) }

Hey leonj0003. It looks like datetext() was incorrectly marked as supported in the documentation. We will update the documentation as soon as possible. For your use case, would the text() function work? It has much of the same date/time formatting options as datetext().
