Stefan Helzle Appian Solutions Appian Community Team,
We have a specific requirement where we have to use Google Tag Manager's script and noscript tags in the page/ interface which will be rendered on Appian portals.
Could you please let us know how we can add these script tags not inside iframe but in the parent head tag of the page/ interface?
What is the approach we can take for this requirement?
PS: Also I know Appian portals does not support all component plugins.
Thanks,
Bharathwaj RK

Our organisation engaged Appian via an Appian Guarantee exercise) to build customer facing application forms (to support customer onboarding - what we thought would be a common requirement). . Whilst it seems that Google Tag Analytics (GTA) support is available , it seems quite odd that Google Tag Manager (GTM) support is not provided by a sanctioned plug-in or productised in some other way. GTA and GTM are quite different, but complimentary capabilities for any Appian customer undergoing digital transformation.Google Tag Manager vs Google Analytics explained (2024) (analyticsmania.com)As a result, we are unable to perform any digital marketing campaign attribution using GTM so are anxious to learn when this capability gap will be addressed by the product engineering team.
If you haven't already speak to your account exec. I know that there is a ticket in for this functionality as I had the same requirement, so the more people asking for this the better (That reminds me to chase my exec). Last I spoke to someone on this requirement which was a couple of months ago the solution they advised was to use the UI SDK and develop something for the portal. I think if it is for your own solution and not for the appmarket it will be easier to get this deployed. At the moment I leverage the url parameters and create individual links for each campaign and then track those being used by recording it into the database plus I push the users to a interim page where we have GTM.
