Monitor Process from an End User

Question

Hi All, 
 I have a requirement to monitor the process instance as a Basic User from SITE. He can't be the member of Designer Group as I want to restrict him from accessing other objects in Designer. Is there a way to achieve this. Please suggest.

Hi 
I think users with basic users rights have no access to designer view and runtime data view. You can give him the designer role, but can restrict his access to other objects in the designer by setting the security of those objects. Karthigha Kailasam In the first place I wouldn't recommend giving the access to end users to monitor the process instance. Appian's process instance map is too technical(or at a low level) and it should be accessible only by those who knows what happens when they take certain actions such as changing the value in the variable, pausing/restarting/cancelling the nodes etc. I opine that this access should be only limited to the Process Administrators and if the end users are interested, rather give them a status history or audit trail of the business processes or a visual indicator such as milestone. 
 IMO it might be worth waiting for a feature from Appian such as Where am I in Pega which shows the process map without exposing any technical details.
