Clear hundreds of tasks from users task list

You could delete the relevant processes via the runtime designer, or make a portal report that filters specifically on these tasks and cancel them.

Thanks Coltonb , so if i delete those process instances by going to designer --> Processes --> Double click and "Delete " , it will go away from user's inbox ? ( Initially i tried terminating those processes but it didnt work )

If you delete a process that contains an active task, the task will be removed.

You can cancel the process as well. As a suggestion for the future, to make your life easier and to follow the best practices you can add to all the processes an "abandoned timer" which can kill the process after certaing time. in development you can put this as 1 day or something like that.

If you want those tasks to be returned to the pool of all users, and just not be selected by that one user, you can do all simultaneously by deactivating that user and reactivating him or her.

Hi Coltonb somehow this didn't work for me ( in 17.2 ) . I deleted the process instance from designer but tasks were still there at user's inbox . 2nd option delete using task report worked fine.

Strange. Are you sure you deleted the correct process instance? If the instance is deleted, all associated tasks will be as well.

I've actually encountered behavior like this in the past. Appian keeps a version of a deleted thing in many instances until the last process utilizing it is completed. Then it will be fully deleted.

This actually prevented us from having a more serious problem when I accidentally deleted a process model. It was strange at first to see new processes being created with that model.
