Getting "Some referenced Items could not be found" error in process model

Question

Hello, 
 Whenever I'm launching a task there is an option to assign it to some particular groups. If no group is being selected then in that case it will be assigned to default group. It was working fine since yesterday but I made some changes related to the assignment. Now what happening is if I will give the value to assign any particular group, It works fine but if i will leave it blank then in that case it gives "Some referenced item could not be found error". Can anyone please tell me why is this happening?

As we all know that assignment for any of the task is mandatory to have. If you want to have the default group as assignment, then in place of null you have to pass the default group.

If you delete a document or folder whose value is stored in a PV, the best thing to do in my experience is, on the data output of the same node, set the value of the PV itself to null (since otherwise it'll still hold an Appian ID pointing to the now-deleted object, causing the issue described here).
