Expose Process/Task Data for External Reporting Tool

Question

I'm looking for the best way to expose the data that would normally be found in the reports created by Create Process Report to an external reporting tool (the specific tool we are looking at now is Spotfire, but the question is really more general to cover any 3rd party tool). The specific fields could include any process or task specific fields. Is there a way to expose this data via smart service or Web API?

One idea.... 
You could use docs.appian.com/.../Execute_Process_Report_Smart_Service.html to get the data from an in-memory report and then persist it to a DB for reporting. 
 
However, generally, you want to model for the data you need for external or long-term reporting to persist to the DB as it is collected or derived within the workflow.

A brief search makes me think Spotfire and support pushes and pulls of data. 
 
WebAPIs support calling the queryProcessAnalytics function, which can expose the same data Create Process Report does. 
 
If you wanted to push data to SpotFire, you could use an Integration object to push data to another system.
