Unable to import custom properties in receive message event

Question

Hi, 
 
 In my process model, i am using send message event in case of escalation and have configured the details in the "data" tab. However, in the destination process model, I am trying to import the custom properties in the setup tab of receive message event by selecting process model in which i have configured send message event but i get a message saying "This process model does not contain any events". 
 
 Have i missed something while configuring the send message event in the source process model??

AFIK , If you have Editor or Administrator rights for a process model, you can import data mappings that have been configured for other events. Among other uses, this feature allows you to easily connect a Receive Message event with a Send Message event that you have configured in another process model. Or, it allows you to quickly build conditions for executing an event. 
 
Also check the mappings that have been configured using events in process models to which you have at least Editor level access can be reused by selecting this option.
