I know Appian can receive an email from a process for an approval type request.

I know Appian can receive an email from a process for an approval type request. We have not done this since the information had to be in a certain way or the process could not distinquish the content in the email. This is old info. Has improvements been made in this area so you could have an email sent out and the person could respond to the email with info rather than a task? Next question is, can an email be used to launch a process? I would realize the email would have to be setup properly to start a process.

You can start a process from an email. Here is the related docs on how to set that up using 6.6.1

For the question about responding to the email with info, could you give me some more details on what you mean by that?
