We are looking at properly determine the size of our models by using the recommended steps but need a definition for steps.
Can someone tell me what Appian considers a step in a process?

By size of process models, do you mean the size of the process model stored on disk? When creating process models, you can have as many nodes as you'd like to complete a process. However, we do recommend that you separate different processes into subprocesses when possible. thank you Patty.
I was actually referring to size in memory.
I’m trying to size up (small, medium, large) the processes I have in our environment to determine the memory impact if I was to add more large processes.
I know that processes are sized by the amount of steps but I don’t know the definition of a step.
How do I count the amount of steps I have in a given process?
Are all nodes consider a step or what makes up a step in a process?

The real question here is what does the word step refer to? Does step equal the number of input nodes? Or does it include automated nodes as well?

When you say, "Can someone tell me what Appian considers a step in a process?" What do you mean by step? Is this phrasing outlined in our documentation?

This comes from the hardware sizing document we received from professional services. They responded to us and it seems to equalize to an input node.
