I accidentally moved process model folder F1 (which did not have a parent folder) from application A to a process model folder F2 in application B, so now F2 is the parent folder of F1.
Is there a way by which i can get the F1 back to its original state ? where it has no parent in application 1.

AFAIK there is no direct way to achieve this. One work around is to create a new folder with the same name (F1) without a parent folder and then move objects from older F1 to this newly craeted F1 folder. Then delete the older F1 (i.e. mistakenly moved folder)
Thanks Harsha. After i create a new folder and move the processes to it , wont the process models be modified ? This is to know if , will i have to deploy a path with the new folder along with the process models (just added to it) to reflect this change in the higher environments ?
