We are using Appian on iPad via Good app (standard followed by client). We are facing a problem with downloading attachments. We generate a pdf in the process and provide a link to that pdf on UI so the user can download the file. This works fine on computer browser. But if the user clicks the download link on iPad, the app just gets closed. We have Adobe Reader on that iPad and all other pdf documents open fine (ie. outside Appian). ...

I've seen something similar in the past. What we did was to reinstall Adobe. In addition, I'd recommend you uninstall Adobe, try installing any other PDF reader and check if that opens up. Then install Adobe again. Hope this helps. The issue happens when you open pdf directly from a browser or app/

Sathya, tried this, but it behaves the same way. As soon as the user clicks the document, the document downloads (user could see 297/297 KBytes in progress indicator) but the pdf doesn't show up. Instead the app just closes.
