I am trying configure a related action to be nearly identical to how a a!submitLink works in the below code snippet. I need to reference a process model to configure a related action that can be setup like to my previous implementation of the a!submitLink logic. I am having a hard time determining if I can do what I need to do with a process model that would be the a!submitLink that allows for user confirmation of the action or cancel the action. See the code snippet below. Is it possible to convert this submitLink to a process model? If I am missing the documentation that documents the way to covert this a!submitLink into a process model instantiation/implementation, please let me know. Thanks!
a!localVariables( a!cardLayout( contents: a!richTextDisplayField( value: { a!richTextItem( text: { "Rescind Case" }, size: "MEDIUM", style: "STRONG" ) }, align: "CENTER" ), link: a!submitLink( label: "Rescind Case", saveInto: { a!startProcess( processModel: cons!UWM_CASE_STATUS_UPDATE_PROCESS, processParameters: { caseId: ri!case.caseId, caseUpdate: { status: "RESCIND", } }, onSuccess: a!save( ri!case.status, "RESCIND" ) ) }, confirmHeader: "Attention", confirmMessage: "This transition will move the case to a rescinded status.", confirmButtonLabel: "Transition Case", cancelButtonLabel: "Cancel" ), height: "AUTO", style: "ACCENT", shape: "ROUNDED" ) )

I think what you’re looking for is startProcessLink
docs.appian.com/.../Start_Process_Link_Component.html
No. I would like understand if the current code posted(a!submitLink that starts a process) can be configured as a related action. It seems like I need a process model that does what line 13 does. Typically, you would have a start form at the beginning node of a process model but I think I would need to somehow use the submitLink as the start form. Hope that helps clarify.
Not clear to me what you’re trying to achieve. Sorry.Maybe this will help:
docs.appian.com/.../Ways_to_Start_a_Process_From_a_Process.html
maybe this is a better way to ask. can a a!submitLink be used as the beginning node of a process model?
I think it would be easier if you would describe the end user behaviour you are trying to achieve?
I would like the modal/dialog confirmation provided by the submitLink along with updating data after the user confirmation to be a related action. I am not sure if I can use submitLink in this fashion.
Not with a submitlink no.
Only way I can see to do that is to use a Record Action with a Start Form that acts as the confirmation screen.
thanks for answer. that helps me identify the path forward!
