Export Cdt to excel

My requirement is before storing to the database the cdt process variable need to hold the value & that details i need to get in excel.

I believe there is no way to export cdt to Excel without writing it into the database.

As you need to store the data in the database , why not use the above service to get the excel after writing to Database and can also truncate the table data after excel generation , if needed.

HI Kiran, Can you please let us know your use case why you want to use export data from cdt and why not from table?

I think you can use Export Data Store Entity to Excel as alternative if it suits your use case.

FWIW, Export CDT to Excel service is deprecated from quite a long time now(4 or may be 5 years) but it is still working as expected afaik. So you can continue to use it and wait for the arrival of something similar as a replacement.

As it has been deprecated, recommended approach from Appian is to persist data in the database and use OOTB Export DSE to Excel which do has it's own limitations of inability to create a new file from a base template (atleast with the OOTB features) and ofcourse in your case requiring to store the data in a database table (for which I agree with the solution Former member has provided that you can delete the data after exporting).

I have scenario like i need to share the details of data by excel before updating to db and get approval, after approval only i need to write to db.
