I have created a process model that produces an Excel file and places it in a knowledge center.
Is there a way to automatically download the excel file from the process model without using a user form with a download link?
It seems like such a basic functionality that I am a bit confused as to why it is so complicated.

That does not work. And I have no idea how that should work .... you could send the file by email ... Or display a download link in an interface.
I am trying to set up a link but no matter what I do it doesn't work. when I click the link simply nothing happens

Well, my first assumption would be that this rule input is empty. Did you check that?
Yes, it definitely wasn't empty but I just went around it by searching for the file in the knowledge center.
