Got ambushed by a seemingly simple stuff. We have a process model which has 5 lanes. Each lane is associated with 1 Department and they will act on the tasks in their lane. Now, this process can only be initiated by Department1. But the Initiate Process action appears for all the 5 Departments as all the 5 Departments have access to the process model as well as the Application.
How do we make it appear only for Department1? Looks like I am going wrong somewhere but could not nail it down....

How did you set permissions on the model?

I believe this is controlled by the Security settings for the Process Model. In the process model, go to Security and then set Department 1 as the only group with Initiator rights.

Initially you can give initiator or viewer access to Department 1 for the process model and once process is initiated, change the security of the process instance using Update Process Security smart service to provide security access to other departments .
